Our roadmap is an indication of our plans. Actual release dates and deadlines depend on various internal and external aspects. We will be adjusting based on our customers feedback and industry challenges.
Near-Term (Q4 2024 - Q1 2025)
Private Beta Operations: Running critical production workloads for select customers in our data centers, with a focus on refining stability and performance.
High-Quality Managed Kubernetes: Delivering a robust managed Kubernetes solution as our primary focus, with a full suite of features expected from public cloud platforms, including advanced control plane options, node pool management, autoscaling, and integration with CSI and CNI standards.
Public Beta Expansion: Moving from private to public beta to allow more customers to experience Thalassa Cloud’s capabilities.
Finalizing Core IaaS Features: Completing foundational IaaS features, such as VPCs, NAT gateways, load balancing, and secure storage.
Community Edition Development: Initiating development of the Community Edition for labs and smaller data centers, targeted for release in the following quarters.
Mid-Term (Q2 2025 - Q4 2025)
Community Edition Launch: Introducing the Community Edition, empowering developers and smaller organizations to independently deploy and manage Thalassa Cloud.
Extended Managed Services: Rolling out additional managed services, including managed databases, secure IPSEC tunnels, and expanded networking features.
PaaS Layer Rollout: Launching the initial Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) layer, tailored to developers, with features like GitOps integration, container registry connectivity, and observability tools for Kubernetes.
Selective Open Source Release: Open-sourcing select infrastructure components, promoting transparency and community engagement.
Strategic Partnerships (Phase 1): Beginning to develop partnerships with key hardware and cloud providers, establishing groundwork for broader deployment support.
Long-Term (2026 and Beyond)
Self-Managed Enterprise Deployment: Offering enterprises a self-managed version of Thalassa Cloud for their data centers.
Enhanced PaaS Capabilities: Expanding the PaaS layer with serverless options, streamlined application deployment, and further integrations with external services.
Expanded Open Source Contributions: Broadening our open-source footprint by releasing additional platform components to enhance the ecosystem.
Strategic Partnerships (Phase 2): Fully focusing on partnerships to accelerate Thalassa Cloud’s reach and to support a variety of deployment environments, enabling compatibility across diverse enterprise needs.
