Managed PostgreSQL clusters with high availability and automatic failover across availability zones.
Databases are one of the most common services deployed in the cloud by DevOps teams. And today, PostgreSQL is the industry standard—with good reason. At Thalassa Cloud, most of our internal systems rely on PostgreSQL. Because we work closely with our customers, we know that many workloads running on our platform do too.
For DevOps teams who want to run PostgreSQL on a Dutch cloud platform—but without the operational overhead - we’re introducing Thalassa Database as a Service (DBaaS). Starting with highly available PostgreSQL clusters, our DBaaS offering is fully integrated into the Thalassa Self-Service Cloud platform. You can now provision production-grade PostgreSQL clusters in just a few clicks—no manual setup, patching, or high availability headaches.
Our PostgreSQL service is built with reliability at its core. Each database cluster can be configured with up to three replicas, automatically distributed across availability zones within a region. This architecture ensures:
As our network is stretched across the availability zones, and we charge no data traffic across AZ boundaries, replicating your Databases across AZ’s is a must have for any production set-up. Scaling up and down is easy and available through the API, Console and once we enter GA, through Terraform and our CLI as well.
We currently support the following PostgreSQL versions:
Our team handles all patching and updates, allowing you to focus on your applications rather than database maintenance. We support the latest 3 major Postgres versions at the time of launch. For each major version, we support the latest minor patch release. Databases can opt into auto minor patches, meaning everytime we release a new minor or patch release, your cluster will automatically be patched within the configured maintenance window.
Database clusters can be created through our Console, API or IaC.
You can manage nearly all aspects through our Console, and everything through our API.
We are excited to announce that our database service is currently in beta, and we are inviting early adopters to join us in shaping its future. As a beta participant, you will benefit from:
